Kat Rees is a Welsh bilingual jazz singer whose captivating voice and soulful interpretations have earned her a place in the hearts of jazz enthusiasts. A regular on BBC Radio Cymru, Kat has also been prominently featured on BBC Radio 3’s “Soweto Kinch: ‘Round Midnight” program. ITV Wales featured her debut Live EP with The Siglo Section as the first original Welsh language Big Band tunes to exist. Tomos Williams, in an article for BBC Cymru Fyw, described her as, “Imagine Ella Fitzgerald and her orchestra singing in Welsh and you’re not that far off.” Known for blending traditional jazz with contemporary influences, Kat continues to enchant audiences both on stage and on air.
Projects

EôS
An exploration of what its like to grow up in Wales through funk, soul and gospel, this group performs in the Welsh language and each performance presents new collaborations with musicians from Wales.

Quartet
Also showcasing the talents of Thomas Barber on Piano, Benedict Stephens on Bass and Patrick Barrett Donlon on Drums. This band swings, with hints of contemporary and original Welsh music.

Duo
Joining forces with pianist Laurie Rich, this duo brings joyful contemporary jazz to a new level exploring standards, classical music & Welsh folk.

Siglo Section
A regular collaborative project, Kat regularly joins forces with The Siglo Section – Wales’ top Jazz Collective to write music and perform.
